LifeFileŽ a Cure for 'Domestic Blindness'
"Honey, I
need my Tax File Number and the Bank Details..."
"Umm. The cheque book's in my purse - No hang on.
I'll get that. You check last years Tax Returns for your
number."
"Where are they?"
"Good question. Try those
boxes in the back bedroom... or maybe they're in the filing cabinet
in the garage."
"Didn't you throw out some paperwork
recently?"
Groan, "I hope it wasn't amongst that
stuff."
"Maybe we need to jot that information down and put
it in a safe place."
LifeFileŽ
guides you as to what information you need to list. It includes
information that you may have at your fingertips, but can't quite
grasp at that moment.

supporting a Life of Independence
Uncle
Jack has a list of allergies as long as your arm! I wanted him to
move in with us when Aunty Phyllis passed away. But as always, Mr
Independence refused. He insisted that the Retirement Village was
his home. I was always worried that if anything happened and I
wasn't available, he wouldn't receive the treatment he needed. So we
got him a LifeFileŽ (and another for my own family) and he
filled it all out himself.
Most of us
don't like to think about unpleasant things happening to us or those
that we love. But what if you or they were temporarily unable to
look after themselves, or even talk? How would you make sure they
received the treatment they needed?
LifeFileŽ is a
simple folder printed on three sides with information prompts for
important data from health history through to your mother's maiden
name. You easily fill it in using a pencil so it can be updated at
any stage you want.

Creator's Life Experience
Jeff
Camp's 69 year old father had been diagnosed with terminal cancer.
He had lived alone on the family farm, but now had moved in with
Jeff and his family. Jeff was incredibly worried about his father,
and to add to his concerns he was wondering how he was going to
manage his fathers care and business concerns. He suddenly needed
information on everything from health insurance to tax details.
Jeff's father was finding it difficult to communicate and that made
it even harder to locate important information or find people who
knew where the information could be obtained.
At a time when
Jeff's focus should have been on his father, his own family and
himself, Jeff was forced to rush around finding the necessary
details. A LifeFileŽ would have saved him time and energy
when he needed it most.
After Jeff's
experience he created the LifeFileŽ to help others avoid what
he went through. LifeFileŽ is simply the best planning and
organizing tool for personal, financial, health care and insurance
information.
LifeFileŽ
granting wishes
Nelly
died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday night. Her son and daughter
and their families were able to spend their time and energy grieving
for the loss of their mother and grandmother instead of stressfully
sifting through numerous documents to finalise her last
wishes.
Through Nelly's LifeFileŽ they discovered that
she wished her Granddaughter to sing at her funeral and the photo of
her late husband to be buried with her.
Being able to grant
these last few requests of Nelly was comforting for her family.
LifeFileŽ also covers funeral and memorial requests as
well as end of life decisions.
Ben and
Tanya had the time of their life thanks to LifeFileŽ
The
Escape to Paradise Travel Agent handed Ben and Tanya a
folder.
"That's your LifeFileŽ"
"Our
what?"
"Your LifeFileŽ. Apart from your tickets and
Travellers Cheques, it's probably the most important document I can
give you. You just fill in the details as it guides you to and put
it in a safe place. See these ID Cards? You give them to people who
may have to deal with your affairs, say family, friends or
colleagues. Then if anything should happen while you're away
enjoying yourselves, they can act quickly to access your
details."
Ben laughed, "But we haven't fit 'anything
happening' into our travel itinerary."
The Travel Agent
smiled, "And you don't want too! That's why you fill in your
LifeFileŽ, forget about it and go and have an awesome
holiday."
And so they did!
Holidays are to enjoy wonderful sights, sounds and
experiences. Most people don't imagine they could be stranded, ill,
injured or robbed while they're away.
How would you manage an
urgent situation far from home?
Did you know that each year
the Department of Foreign Affairs handles over 20,000 cases
involving Australians in difficulty overseas. This includes over 700
hospitalisations, 600 deaths and 100 evacuations of Australians to
another location for medical purposes.
LifeFileŽ's
simple system brings organisation and peace of mind. You can't
control every aspect of your holiday, but you can take steps to
ensure you protect your own best interests and your
family's.
LifeFileŽ is a single resource that lists
where all of your important documents are located so that when
something unexpected (or expected) happens those who are left behind
can easily attend to your affairs. This saves time, money and effort
when it is needed - generally at a very difficult
time.
LifeFileŽs
of the Rich and Famous
"Did you
know Grandpa had another Savings Account?" Michael waved a file in
the air at his father.
"You mean apart from the joint account
with your Grandma?"
"Yes."
"What's that?"
"His
LifeFileŽ. Didn't you go through it when he was put in
hospital?"
Michael's father stood up and took the file from
him.
"I only looked at his medical information." Michael's
father took some documents from the pouch of the file. There was a
letter addressed to him and he sat down on his late father's sofa
and read quietly.
Michael watched his father's face slowly
crease into a smile.
"What?"
"You know how we were
worried about your Grandfathers birds? Well, there's no need to. In
fact, there's enough money here to turn his land into the Sanctuary
he's always wanted."
Michael was confused, "If he's had that
money all along, then why didn't he do it?"
His father was
thoughtful, "Maybe he thought he was too old and it was too big a
task." He stood up and walked over to the window.
Michael
joined him, looking out of the window at the sun setting over his
Grandpa's acreage.
"When do we start?"
Sometimes people find it easier to write down
instructions of what is to be done with their estate rather than
verbally communicate. LifeFileŽ assists you with this and
keeps all relevant information together so that nothing goes
astray.
LifeFileŽ
saves precious time
My mum
was always apprehensive about me riding a motorbike. And on the 11th
of February this year, the day of my accident, I wish I'd caught the
train!
I was
riding my bike to my boyfriends house when a drunken drive ram
through a red light. Unfortunately, I was on a green light and he
clipped the back right hand corner of my bike.
I
remember feeling the bike jerk me to the right and flipping over,
and at that point I think I shut my eyes. And that was
it...
When I
woke in hospital I had a broken collarbone, fractured arm in two
places, whiplash, a mild concussion, and I'd broken my little finger
(Can you believe I even broke my pinkie!).
I was
groggy but I remembered feeling panicked. I have Asthma and certain
medications can trigger a chronic attack.
Fortunately, my flatmate had located my LifeFileŽ and
passed my medical history onto the Hospital. Without it things could
have been far worse for me.
Mum got
her way; I never got another motorbike. But I wonder what she'll
think of the Snowboard I'm buying for Christmas...
LifeFileŽ can save precious time for when those
emergencies do occur.
